2014 Spring/ Summer Trend Forecast from New York Fashion Week

It's no surprise that sportswear was an ongoing trend in New York - now more about individual key items rather than a new conceptual look - but the mood for functional styling gave us several new must-haves, such as culottes, crop-tops, tennis-inspired shift dresses and the continuing trend for soft joggers. Newer directions include 90s-style bias cutting, particularly the slip dress becomes the popular silhouette. a. Color The season's colour palette looks fresh with an emphasis on cool whites, soft baby blues, vivid orange and pretty candy pastels colors. 1. White
Clear, crisp whites were a strong colour story in New York. From ivory to milk and paper whites, different layered textures creating different motifs. 2. Pastel
